Photo Policy
Feedback from our community tells us that photo-taking in class can take away from the safe space that Power Plus Wellness endeavors to create in every space we enter. We hear you. Our first intention with every offering is to offer as safe of a safe as possible for big bodies to move and heal in community.
And, our media is essential to our marketing and expansion. It’s likely many of you discovered us through a social media post — like our viral ballet video, or a friend sharing a selfie, or an influencer posting a reel that resonated deeply. Many of us love reliving these moments! For some people, there is something profoundly liberating about seeing yourself represented in a group of big bodies moving joyfully and strongly every single time.
For others, not so much.
So, what now? We are doing our best to explore how to keep our spaces as safe as possible while gathering the media we need to market and expand our small business. To that end, we will experiment with new photo policies and work out the kinks together.
New Photo
Policy
As of June 2024, our class ambassadors (the babes who do check in) will have brightly colored wristbands. If you do not want to be photographed, you may wear a wristband for the duration of class. This will signal to anyone on the PPW team that you do not want to be in photos and they will avoid taking photos of you. If photos of you are taken accidentally, our internal team will know not to use them publicly by your wristband.
PPW will continue to take a photo at the end of every class. If you choose to pose for that photo, it may be shared whether or not you are wearing a wristband.
Power Plus Wellness will slowly roll out NO PHOTO classes, such as ballet and others that are requested. In these classes, all pictures and videos beside the last group photo will be strictly prohibited.
As a team, we will do our best to limit taking photos and videos only when we require fresh media for marketing purposes.
We kindly ask that members limit photos of videos of themselves while class is in session. If you will be recording yourself, you MUST record only yourself. If anyone is in the background of your recording, you must get express verbal permission and respect if that permission is not granted. No members are allowed to use accessories to record themselves, such as tripods, gimbals, etc.
If you are an influencer, blogger, etc., and want to feature your experience at a Power Plus Wellness class, you must notify our team in at least 24 hours advance of your class and receive permission to film and use accessories. We will consider these requests on a case-by-case basis. If an ambassador has not been made aware of permission for your recording, you will be asked to, kindly, stop.
